What is the best stuff to use to clean my engine for paint? ive tried all the engine cleaners with not much luck. Ive even used a wire brush on a drill , which helped, but there gotta be a eaiser way.

For a used engine..The best I ever found was straight laquer thinner and elbow grease.

Take The Motor To A Machine Shop And Have It Hot Tanked It Comes Out Awsome

Yup, hot tanks the way to go but if you're going to get it hot tanked pull all the core plugs from the side and end of the block and the threaded pipe plugs from the oil galleys and remember where they came from. Don't forget the cam bearings. The shop will most likely do this for you and charge you.

oven cleaner on a hot day always works...spray it, let it bake and power wash it off
