A guy I know has a challenger with a 4 speed setup that could of been pieced together by the previous owner. Basically the did not run and was in pieces when he got it.

Now that he has it together the problem is that when the clutch is fully depressed it makes quite a racket . It appears the clutch pressure plate levers are being pushed in so far they contact the clutch disc hub.

Has anyone ever experienced this?

I was thinking this could be caused by using the wrong z-bar or clutch fork that resulted in tto much throwout bearing travel in relation top clutch pedal travel??

Any suggestions on how to diagnose??

Thanks,

Bob

I had the same problem 30+ years ago when I converted to a 10.5" clutch in my '64. I was able to fix it with fine tuning of the adjustment rod.
