column steering lengths?

i am trying to get the dart converted over to power steering. its a slant 6 so i figured i'd get the pulleys and brackets for it. i'll get a box and pump new. does anyone have the length of a power and a manual steering column? how much shorter is it? can't i just cut it, redrill for the pin, and get a ps coupler?

3 inches shorter for power steering. To replace the shaft is a lot less trouble and expense. Probably needs bearings anyway. Good luck
