I bought a 66 barracuda with 318 and supposedly original 273 commando engine block and crank etc.
Completely unassembled and one valve guide broken.

measurements of the cam lobes could give you the "commando" answer. I would be leary with the 2bbl intake and carb but anything could have happened between then and now. good luck with the sale thanks for posting.

That 2 bbl. manifold appears to be a later 318 unit, by the style of choke and the hints of blue paint poking through the red.
Just sayin', for OP's info.

Casting number on the block please? (just to make sure it's a 273)

All 273's used the same block, crank, heads, rods and valve train. The Charger/ Commando engines had different pistons, cam, intake/carb, and a dual point as well as valve covers and air cleaner. Regardless of which intake this has, Nothing sold here could be from the HP engine except for the cam which may be reground if reused.
@Jgirvalo, you should probably delete "commando" from the description.

What is the story on the Mallory distributor, is it a dual point or a Unilite? Tell me about it, I might be interested in it. Thanks
