I keep reading about comp having some hyd lifter problems but my searches are not bringing up. Any help or input would be helpful. Thanks Kevin.

I haven't heard of Comp having Hyd lifter problems. Mopar Performance Lifters I have heard and experienced. I have MPP lifters and they are noisey. What problems have you heard of?

There were some lifter problems industry wide for awhile

Luckily the comp set I got is all good. My last of Lunati lifters had a couple of clickers.

They had problems about a year and a half to 2 yrs. ago but I think they got it resolved. They told me the factory here in the states they got their lifters from went on strike and they had to get lifters from China for a short time. That's what all the problems was about. I got 2 bad sets but they were good about warranty'ing them. I've known other people since then that haven't had problems with them.

I dont know if they got the problem fixed or not. A freind of mine is changing a set out now. And as said above this is the same with every company. I went with solid lift so I dont have to worry about the problem.

I put a set in a 318 Demon and had definite problems with 2 of the little guys...........One in particluar just didn't want to pump up, and the other was spotty.............If I remember correctly, they replaced one and the other one quieted down after about 2 or 3 hundred miles.

I had a problem with some comp lifters that were purchased last year. I followed the break in procedure, took EVERY precaution and I still had a lifter fail. This is why I am in the process of switching to a roller cam…I had to tear down the entire motor and clean EVERYTHING, replace the oil pump, rod and main bearings, piston rings, I picked metal out of my piston skirts for 2 hours with a dental pick….the list goes on and on.

Some say they can’t justify spending money on a roller cam…but with the cost rebuilding your motor if a lifter fails, the price of the roller cam doesn’t look that bad anymore.

Here are some pictures of the carnage.

I also had a problem with hyd. lifters on 2 of my Lunati cams, part of the reason i'm switching to a solid cam..
