Compression Issue (thin head gaskets??)

-
Mill the heads, i would.

mill .053 off of them, then mill .030 off the intake face of the heads, test fit intake and more them likely ...mill another .020 off the intake itself.

Ive milled all kinds of heads to get where i need to be, milled my j's down to 60cc...no issues doing that. some people dont see it from any view but theyre own, no sweat bro.

yea its what we have to do... with the short block assembled, heads assembled, it makes no sense to have new pistons or different heads lol...

and nice thing about being a slant guy is i have no issues with milling LOL

302 casting heads with a 3 angle valve grind on the stock short block and call it a day. That should get you close enough.

I recently did a similar build. Stock 318 and bought a set of #302 heads that were shaved down .35 Also had a 3 angle valve job, cut back the valves and port matched both sides. Machine shop did a chamber test and I'm right at 56mm. Was going to run the thinner head gaskets but decided spending $80 on a set wasn't worth the extra 6hp.. lol
