Hey all, thinking about adding a Torqstorm blower to my 225/6 in my '67 Barracuda convertible. Current setup is a Clifford 6=8 package (cam, headers, 4 bbl intake) with an edelbrock 500. Wondering about a few things:

    1. Do I have to pull the engine to get the Torqstorm on?
    2. Would I have to do any modifications to it internally to handle it?
    3. Would I have to do any modifications to the engine bay to fit it?
    4. Would I be able to keep the power steering?
    5. Would those who have used this setup recommend it? Ie, is it really worth the 3k?
    6. Is it something that a novice can bolt-on, or would it require serious skill?

I have one on my 63 Valiant, installed it 12/1/2018. I will tell you the way I have mine set-up.
      1. You do not have to pull the engine.
      2. You do not have to do any internal engine mods. I did use an unmilled head and did not deck the block. Used head studs, main studs and rod bolts from ARP. with a fel-pro head gsk. (blew a stock steel gsk. once) I run a comp cams 252 duration 430" lift cam degree at their spec. I run it to 5K. Use a stock exhaust manifolt with offenhauser intake, and running a C&S Specialties blow through carb 550 4bbl. You will be fine with the edelbrock 500 just do the Doug Dutra mod he does in the back of the slant six hop-up manual. I run a push through electric fan on the front as the blower pulley is so close to radiator.
      3. Had to drill a couple of holes on the fenderwell for the adjustable fuel pressure regulator, you will have to run a return to the back of the fuel tank. Also had to oblong the engine mount holes so the engine would sit down in the engine bay a little lower because the top of the hat on the carb would touch the bottom of the hood.
      4. I believe you can.
      5. would cost a little less than putting in a 360 small block, plus it would be different. however when running more than 12lbs. of vacuum the blow-off valve noise is LOUD going down the road.
      6. Yes a novice can do it. They offer 3 different size blower pulleys I have the smallest which gives the most boost 10-12 lbs. @ 4500-5000 rpm. the largest gives 5lbs of boost.
These act like a turbo @ about 2200rpm it starts to build a small amount of boost(u will need a boost /vacuum gauge in the vehicle)and builds with rpm. It is fun to drive!
I have run against a 2017 mustang with an eco boost, a 370Z nissan and a late model camaro with a 350. They have all said the same thing, that the faster the speed the harder I pulled away.

Wow super clean and great-looking engine compartment. Do you experience any problems with overheating with that setup

Goldbike is at work now. Might be a few hours before he can get back to you.

Fantastic! Is the battery relocated to the trunk? I'd love to do this one day... Is this on a daily driver? I'm curious of any precautions to take if on a daily in terms of cooling and all. If you or anyone else knows. Thanks.

if it sits after it has been running, the fuel will boil in the carb. causing hard starting, but going down the road does like stock. I an looking for another hood, so i can put a ramcharger scoop on so I can run a heat insulator under the carb. But right not the blower hat clearence to hood is not enough.

Yes, the battery is in the trunk bolted down right behind the rear seat in the center for better center mass. Supercharger kit is 35lbs. total. Still less than a small block.

It uses a Jaguar 6 drive belt, belt tensioner is spring loaded. Really fun to drive.
