I need your help out there. Need to make repairs to the console. What are the steps to remove it to do so? So far we can not even get the shift knob off. We can get the screw loose and rotate it however we can not remove it to remove the console....HELP:coffee2:
Pictures are great if possible

I assume we are talking automatic. Loosen off the Allen screw below the knob and unscrew the knob. Be careful, there is a spring underneath that may fly anywhere.

The button has to be unscrewed. Once that's off, you can loosen the set screw. The handle will then come off. There are two screws inside the lid that go down into the rear mounting bracket. There are two screws(one on each side) in the front under the console carpet. Those screws go in sideways into the front mounting bracket.

Loosen the allen screw on the side of the shifter knob first.

Hold down the black plastic button, then turn the knob along with the button counter-clockwise until the button unthreads from the cable. There is a spring below the button that is under tension, so keep your hand on the button.....

It'll be wise to move the shifter to neutral before removing the button.
If you don't want to set the park brake and work around it, chock the wheels.
