console shift linkage 904 to 727

I replaced the 904 with a 727. I have a console shift. The bracket that mounted to the old 904 that held the rod in place on the console shifter doesn't see to work for the 727. There isn't anyplace to bolt it to the 727. (the 904 had 2 bolt holes) Do I need a different piece?

if you do maybe we could trade, I have the console shift linkage from a b-body with 727 and plan to put the shifter an console stuff into my a-body with 904 so if the linkage is difrent maybe we can help each other out.

i think i figured out the problem...the guy that built my motor was over tonight. The 727 I have came out of a pickup. The tailshaft case doesn't have the hole needed to bolt up the bracket. He says I have to swap tailshafts.
