Wondering if cool cans are really worth anything for lower ets? Any advice or info on them is appreciated.I am trying to squeeze anouther .10th in the 1/8th out of my all motor slant, that would put me into the 7s.This last .10th is fighting me.Guzzi Mark

Guys used to run them in the past alot, don't know if they really helped, i would say they will if your fuel is getting warm in any given area from its routeing, now if you can cool down the intake useing ice bags just before the run, that'll be worth a solid tenth right there, you'll need to do it in the pit area or back in the stageing lanes somewhere, then push it as close to the water box as possible without fireing it, its tricky doing this as tracks frown on it anymore do to water dripping on the track.

Thanks for all the replys.I really learned alot, this forum is a wealth of good info.Guzzi Mark

They do definetly keep your carb cooler, I have a vintage one from the 1960's so I put it on for that look. I did fill it with ice at the track when I ran ut and the fuel line was cooler when the can was full. My friend babyblue66 has a 440 with a dual quad and his carbs were getting hot with the 4x2 intake, he said he should run one, he now has a tunnel ram and doesn't need it. :toothy10:

i have ine that my dad gave me out of his 69 gtx 440 car and it is near mint i have it up in my room and i wouldnt get rid of it for anything

Cooler fuel defenantly helps, another thing you could do is cool the intake as mentioned but instead of ice bags get a can of aersol duster used for cleaning electronics, when you hold the can upside down and spray it you get an extremely cold blast that can actually burn your skin lol, it'll work. In the 60's or 70's I beleive it was Sox & Martin that was doing this and the NHRA outlawed it so it must have done something :-D

Yes they help. No doubt. Colder fuel mix means better atomization....better atomization means a more powerful and complete burn.

Moroso makes a really nice one....insulated.....only comes in "blue" though....good stainless insulated cans can be pretty costly.

If you drag, it's a good addition.

A cool can dropped my et 3 tenths in a 318 4 barrel 8)
Yes they do work  and I have one I am going to put in my 66 valiant /.

cool can defintely works, also full loop fuel delivery running extra fuel back to the tank keeps the pressure build up in the line from making fuel hotter. pump, log, feed, return
