Hey! this is just a thought! but i was looking at radiators today and i am upgrading to a newer bigger rad! the easiest ones to find are out of a automatic suv or truck and they have a trans cooler built right in! just a shot in the dark but would this trans cooler work as an engine oil cooler? i dont need the trans cooler!

That has to be able to handle up to 70lbs of pressure, somewhere I read that engine oil absorbs 60% of the heat generated by the motor. Years ago we would change oil between races to cool the motor, wonder if anyone else still does it??

It depends how you hook it up. If you use a sandwich adapter it'll be a low pressure circuit, like 2lbs. I have a couple of those running on different vehicles. The Hayden thermostatically-controlled ones are nice for that. I'm presently running a straight up filter re-locator with a cooler circuit on the Duster at full pressure. It's a benefit for the added sump capacity, whether you actually need the cooling or not. Cooling is a benefit too If it's a hard-working race engine.
