Guy I bought my disc brake set-up from has a 318 4bbl he says is a cop car motor numbers stamped in it are 4104230 in his book of numbers it shows as 318 race motor.I haven't had any luck searching the web for info.Any of you guys seen this before? I did find one site that listed numbers and all it said was race motor painted orange!!

that 318 casting number shares the same casting number as the mopar X race block...
99.99999% of the time it is not the race block....above where the dip stick tube is look for a X casted into the block...
also the X blocks were not installed in the production line of cars....you had to buy the block from Mopar...

I could not get to it to look at it myself the guy has it stored in the back of a van in a field. The van was full of mice nests and with the ticks and rattlesnakes I did not want try to get in there to it today.Couple that with the fact that he is 2 hours away probably won,t be looking at it soon! Thanks for any info don't want to buy something thinking it is something it's not!
