I am converting from column shift to floor shift. Naturally, the console I ended up with is White and the interior is Black. So I figured I would use Duplicolor, SEM, Etc. to dye the console.

But I guess there are variations of Black?

Any suggestions on the "correct" Black to use? What have others used before that had great results?

Make sure you clean the console surface you're painting 2 or 3 times & also use an adhesion promoter.

Was going to clean it really well a couple times, and then scratch it up with a scruber of some sort.

Has anyone used Rustoleum Self Etching Primer before? Repainting the dash and considered this as the primer ahead of base coat. Thoughts?

Also thought, since I am working on the floor as well, one side replacing the floor pan, and the other prepping and coating with Eastwood encapsulator, and was going to use an Epoxy Primer over that ahead of base coat, maybe just stay consistent and use the same primer on the dash?

Again, any thoughts?
