I'm about to start cutting the front frame/inner fender area apart on the ye duster something doesn't seem right, the cowl to inner fender brackets have a gap between the brackets and the cowl. I want to see if anyone has any pictures / measurements if the bracket is supposed to have a gap or is supposed to be tight to the cowl.this car was in a pretty substantial collision and has the front end front another car welded on them the k member forward. Anytime input or pictures would be greatly appreciated, and if anyone has a measurement from cowl to rad support would help allot too. It looks like the spot welds have broke both sides but is consistent between both sides

Mine's tight.

I'd do some serious measurements and/or frame shop before I'd spend a nickle. Costs add up fast and you'd hate to be upside down on something that won't ever be right. Just my 2 cents.

The car is a 71 duster, everything measured up properly before I started work on the car. I've got frame rails and inner fenders that I'm getting ready to replace, as the ones in the car have literally been cut off at the firewall area and another clip welded on to them.

The cowl area directly above the bracket shows signs that the car was likely in a crash and (somewhat) repaired.

The car was unprofessionally pulled after a collision . The car should be put on a 108 wheel base fixture before anything else is done. There could be more body damage not seen.

I have fixed rusted cars on jack stands but your car looks to have been damage more by the repairs then the collision. Good luck. Do it right the first time or you will run into future fitment problems with other body panels or 4 wheel alignment.

Find a shop with a 108 wheel base fixture. Ours covers all Barracuda, Duster, Demon, Dart sport. We can make other stands for different cars but I mostly work on 108's. We got this stand from Mario Andretti's 3n1 race shop in New Jersey.

The fixture puts everything in place.
