creekdemon ignition switch?

We have a 73' Dart and would like to replace the ignition switch. We have taken the column apart down to the steering locking plate. But are still unable to take the switch out. Any suggestions on how to remove the locking plate, it appears to be pressed onto the shaft and i am afraid to bend it if i used a puller. Does any one know how to remove the locking plate properly.

Pop the cover off of it and a rolll pin holds it on.
