cuda trim ????

it is a repop of the 67 barracuda trunk molding. It is the thin top piece. They have repoped it and sell it for both upper and lower but even though it will work as a lower it is not 100% correct fitting. It will do though for those whose lower is beat to hell.

According to Joel at Metro Parts Company, the moulding he is reproducing is the lower piece. He personally told me that he didn't know there was a difference until the item was in production, and that only by chance did he pick a bottom piece to reproduce. I also personally compared Metro's piece to my original piece and he is in fact reproducing the bottom. If this is a Metro piece, I'd say it is the bottom piece. The bottom piece is almost always the dented up piece because the bottom lip of the trunk protrudes out furthest on the trunk and is subject to receiving the denting first. Geof

Some people squak about the minor difference in the profile of the trim and how it matches up with the corresponding profile on the taillight, but it's almost unmentionable on most all but the high $$$ concours resto. Used to be that bottom piece was fetching $750-800.00 before they started repopping them, and I'm sure the N.O.S ones may still be that. The Metro ones are a nice piece for the $$$. Geof

Thanks cosig for the correction. I was going off of memory and that can be a bad thing sometimes.
