Bad Fish 65
Well heres the story on my 65 Barracuda that I've had for 10 yrs. I purchased this car in Oregon and had it shipped to florida in 2004. Fell in love with this car when I first saw it on the internet. Kinda like your first born, even if their ugly ya still gotta love them. I remember when I showed the wife the car for the first time, she laughed and said that it look "badly put together"... go fiquer, but she likes Chevy's so what does she know. I fix up what was wrong and drove the car for 4 yrs till a supposed friend talk me into taking it to his shop and rebuilding the motor and repainting it. Well, we hit on a price I gave him 1/2 deposit and he started working on the car. Motor was rebuilt by a great engine builder here in west palm and sent back to the shop to put back in the car. At that time the car had been stripped and base coated to get cleared so the engine was put aside till the car came out of paint, and that's when the crap started to go wrong! Look's like the clear was mixed wrong and would not harden. I kept saying something wrong but was told to wait that it would harden in a few days. I know better now! LOL. 3 wks after I again asked why the clear was still tacky, I was told that they had had an issue and the car had to be repainted. Not happy about that but having no choice I said ok and waited 1 wk, 2 wk's, 3 wk's, finally decided to go back to the shop when lo and behold a tow truck show's up at my house with my car in pieces. I called the shop no answer, I drove there and I realized that they were closed, gone, shut down. So now I've paid half a deposit on a car that's at my house in pieces with No motor, crappy paint and boxes pieces of car I had no idea where they went. The supposed friend had skipped town and closed shop with my money! and I later found out quite a few other people. My car sat in my garage from 2008 till June 2013 when I finally decided I was gonna do a Mulligan! My wife thought I was nuts, but I love this car so I found a bodyshop with a good rep, had the owner come over and look at the car and settled on a price to repaint. Started to put the rebuilt block together (273) and now I'm about ready to get the car back from the shop. So happy I did this even though it's taken forever, sometimes you can't quit horse riding cause you got thrown off. Just wanted to tell my story and put up some pic's of whats been done / accomplished so far... Hopefull by Feb. I'll be driving in my car! Hoorah!! And by the way, found out that supposed friend is living in Charlotte NC so beware! Happy Holiday's.
I'll post more pic's later.
