Olivia de Haviland, the last surviving major star of the great civil war movie made in 1939, just turned 102 yrs old. "Gone with The wind" was one of the biggest epic movies ever made, about the Gentile South ( yes I'm pro Southern) A great movie.
I remember my mom taking me to see it in the early 1950s. I've watched it a few times since then also. Just a heads up.

What is truly a shame is that due to societal changes that classic film has actually been banned in some areas because of it's racist tendancies.

Bullshit!

Now that is a shame. For better or worse, pushing away the past will only let it be forgotten and that allows for a repeat in history. And that should never be a repeat. Slavery, brother vs brother war & all that goes with it.

I never seen the movie though.

Happy birthday Olivia. U were a great actress. Kim

Yep, she was a great one. She could carry a movie. The Heiress was a good one.

Also fun to see her in Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte, you don't expect Melanie, Scarlett O'Hara's mild-mannered best friend to haul off and slap the daylights out of Bette Davis.

Also fun to see her in Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte,

That movie gave me the creeps until I was in my teens.

I will ALWAYS remember that head rolling down the stairs and the hand in the piano!

Frankly my dear, i don't give a damn.
(Not really!)
However, that statement was a big time controversy for the day as it was the first time someone ''swore'' in a movie!
A little mild compared to today, don't you think?
Good for her, BTW.............
