Hey everyone, I am getting ready to run my engine on a stand before putting it in the chassis.. I was advised to remove the inner springs for the best chance for the cam to live.. I removed the inner spring and damper spring... now I'm questioning if I should have left the damper springs in. It is only going to run for 25 minutes ( under 2500rpm), I don't want to hurt anything.. what can you fine Mopar gear heads tell me.. should I start again or can I run it with just the outer spring. Mild cam .488 int .491 exh . Thanks for any advise in advance.

Flat tappet cam, it’s a good idea to break it in with the light springs..

Roller cam it’s not necessary.

I used the stock spings with the comp .480

I never run those flat wire dampers. All they do is chew **** up. When it goes back together leave it out.
