Dana 60 Pinion Snubber

-
I have the same issue and would like to find out as well...

Ok, here are the pics of my snubber and mount on my Dana 60. Home built, inexpensive and adjustable by simply adding or subtracting washers.

As you may see…. The hump (the snubber contacts) took a beating back in the cars hard charging days. Back then it had a large round biscuit like snubber.

The rubber one on there now is just a bump stop from NAPA (don't have the part number).

Has anybody mounted a pinion snubber on a Dana 60 that was not made for one?

FWIW, My 3.73 Dana behind my 408 stroker pulled a best 60' yesterday of 1.639, on M/T ET Streets, 1/4 time was 12.09 @ 110. I have SS springs, and no wheel spin, it just hooks and goes. In my case, I do not need a pinion snubber. (i guess...)

I pull 1.6, 60' times with XHD springs a snubber and stock E-70 14s.

Some will need/want one, others won't.

Regardless….. The thread question was "Has anybody mounted a pinion snubber on a Dana 60 that was not made for one?"

True. I was convinced I needed a Snubber when I installed my Dana, but the racer who sold it to me said if I ran SS springs I would not need one. Just passing the info on, thanks for policing the thread!

Incidentally, a 1.6 60 inch time is nothing to brag about.:-D
