I had posted a while ago that I needed a right front retractable seat belt for my `74 Dart. I finally got around to taking some pics. Now mind you, this car is my beater and it's loaded with crap in the back seat.... but you can see what I need. Besides a shovel.

This is the drivers side reel, but I just wanted to post what it *should* look like at the bottom. The passenger side blew up and it's all over the floor on the passenger side.....

Again, the Wife reminded me that we need to fix the seat belt (translation: I get to find, buy, and freeze my *** off installing it...)

Help a Brother out here. :salute:

Whats the main difference? It just has to bolt in and work. I'm not concerned with correctness. As long as I can mount it SECURELY using factory mounting points and it does it's job.

Looks like it just needs the twists cleared out of it. Have you been into it ?

The picture of the lower reel is the drivers side which works. I neglected to post the passenger side since I Mongo'ed it. The passenger side would bind and latch if you moved it 2"... no matter how slowly you pulled it. I opened it up and saw that the little coiled tension spring rotted in half and was allowing the little plastic "clutch" to engage constantly. I tried to "fix" it and proceeded to unravel 47' of spring reel and forever ruin the hopes of ever having an operational seat belt reel again.... if I REALLY wanted to I could probably rebuild the damn thing but at that point I have to take it out and re-install it. Why not just drop in a working one? I have enough crap to do without making more projects for myself! =;

Wow, you just now answered a 3 1/2 year old request? Hopefully he hasn't been driving all this time without them! :)
