I pulled the car apart for the rebuild, now I am getting ready to put it back together. Reading the “install” segment in the factory Barracuda supplement is somewhat helpful, but I have a question not covered in it.

I will have the wipers, heater box and dash wiring installed. Is the dash Installation easier with the instrument bezel & instruments, switched, speaker and glove box installed in the metal dash frame, or do you install the frame and add the various components afterwards?

I would venture to guess that the factory used 2 guys to install the completed dash with all its components. That’s what I’ll do when installing the dash in my 65

The dash frames were installed as a complete unit in the factories.

Put your LH & RH outside lower bolts into the body a few threads.

Then make use of the U slots in the dash frame to locate it side to side, they will take most of the weight off your arms.

Then rotate the frame up to install the upper fasteners at the windshield area.

Start snugging the fasteners in and once satisfied with position, tighten them down.

Keep in mind that the windshield has to be out to install entire dash this way.

I had windshield out, then installed dash, wiper, heater box. Lastly cluster, and then connect things underneath including glove box last thing.
