Hello, Guys and Gals,

On the way home tonight, my dash lights suddenly went out. Headlights still work, turn signals work, and heater works, but all dash lights are dead. I will be tracing wiring with a schematic tomorrow, but was just wondering if anyone has an idea on where to start.

Thanks,

Check and wiggle Pin G, a orange wire on the electrical connector on the instrument panel, lower 6 oclock position.

I hade the issue on my scamp, bare wire for the radio shorted a fuse though.

clean the connections on all the wires on the back of the cluster and check the bulbs i did all that and mine started working. and if it has a dimmer it could be going out mine is and it has to be in a sertan spot to light them all up.

First place I'd check is the fuses.

Do your tailights work?

Power for the dash lights actually goes through 2 different fuses. There's a 20 or 30 amp one that includes the tailights, and then a 3? amp one that is just the dash lights.

If there's a problem with the tailights, or if either of those fuses blow, the dash lights go out.

Thanks to everyone for the tips. I checked the fuses and they were OK, so I took the dash out. There was a connection that was soldered to the printed circuit board on the back of the dash, and it had pulled off from the board. I resoldered it and checked the other connections. Lights are working now.

Thanks again.
