anyone want to donate me a passenger front fender and a rear bumper for my 72 duster?....?....?....awwwww come on! LOL

I havent been able to work on the duster in so long and im really wanting to get some progress down on it. Just with money troubles over the last few months and getting ready for our baby girl to get here and all the other things going on....I havent had time or money to work on it.

Im really hoping to get back on it soon though!

The fender and bumper are the 2 main pieces to the puzzle that im missing that will cost a good bit to get. most the rest is all labor and material cost. im hoping by summer I will have it done for the most part!.

anyways.....just day dreaming a bit here don't mind me lol

Anyone else here ever wonder when they will have their project done and on the road?

been about 3 years for me so far. Sure it has came a long ways from what it use to be. but still not done. pretty much down to body work and paint now , so I guess you could say im in the home stretch?....then again, if things keeping going how they have been....at this rate it could be another year or 2 or more (who knows) if i cant start catching a break now and then. lol

I haven't even been able to touch my car in damn near a whole year! Things have been so tight around here lately I'm starting to think I may never get it going again at this rate. I can't even afford to get the parking brake setup so I can at least pass the inspection. Hell I have a rearend but no driveshaft sitting in my garage. I trucked that thing out here when I moved from CA going on 2 years ago. BUT, as long as my mortgage gets paid it's all good. Let it sit. Everyone is having trouble these days but at least we have a roof over our heads and food on the table. One of these days I'll be back on it, cussing up a storm with bloody knuckles and a guiness on the fender!

HAHA I hear ya. Are we crazy for looking forward to bloody knuckles and cussing at a hunk of steel on wheels? LOL

No not at all. Sometimes knowing I have my truck back in the states waiting fror me when I get home is one of the things that keeps me from going postal on this place. My family supports my habit and my wife is wanting to learn how to work on cars/trucks when I get back. So crazy you are not, a Mopar guy you are.

Things will get better and come around for you.

I had a rear bumper for one I tried to give away right here on this forum last summer. Nobody wanted it so guess where it went?

better to except the time it takes than to get frustrated and just cobble it together and be unhappy with the result. years ago i got so frustrated when i found a tree growing up through the floor of my project, from lack of time or money to work on it. so i just called the local junk yard and had it hauled away. bad move... that car was an aar cuda

Yup, i hear ya there. thats why I have not bothered touching it the last few months. I have put so much time and heart into the duster up to this point that its no time to start cutting corners now just because im anxious for it to be done. So I hope things turn around soon so i can put forth the effort the duster deserves and finish it up the right way!

I here ya I got some work done today on my moms duster and man does it feel great theres nothing like that feeling

I have a bumper off my 71 that you can have but I'm not sure if front or back. I'll dig out and look at it and see if it warrents the cost to ship. Crap I know these don't have jack slots

Ya, I go in spurts too based on cash, time etc...being a project I guess it's never really "done". Main thing is there's a project car in the garage, even if it's just sitting there waiting for attention. After a long hiatus (new houses, jobs, kids) I finally came to a point where I could swing another project, my Duster. I think we are all lucky to have our project cars, toys etc...Lot's of folks out there don't.

That is true....atleast I still have it sitting and waiting for when I am able to work on it when finances and time allow. I have been faced with the thought of selling it on a few occasions but my wife would kick my *** if I did. She knows how much time and heart I have put into it and she wants to see me finish it. Plus I would like to hang on to it and give it to my son one day...he is 5 now so I still have plenty of time to get it finished lol, being that we were both in mopar muscle mag with the duster when they published the project...it also holds more sentimental value.

Having a wife the "gets it" sure helps doesn't it?

I'm lucky that way too... And spinning wrenches with my daughters (10yo twins) has been an absolute blast. They've kinda been pushing me to get things done cuz they plan on driving the Duster when they are old enough. The neighborhood boyz tend to come around when we fire that muther up... I think it's an excuse to talk to my daughters but that's a whole nother story. :banghead:

My project is going to be on the back burner until we build our house. Being retired and somewhat handy will help keep the costs down. However with a somewhat worn out body and a fixed income it is going to be a while....a long while....
