Daytona car show this weekend

Guys, Anyone going to the car show / swap meet at the Daytona speedway this weekend?

I'm hoping to find a passenger quarter for the duster and maybe some 74-76 seatbelts and maybe some tail lights...or maybe I should just look for another car :toothy7:

never been to a swap b4 not sure what to expect. should I empty the bank and go with a fist full of cash so as not to miss any good deals? Should I expect to find what I need? Is there usually a list of vendors or just weird old dudes with overpriced crap that's in worse shape than the stuff I have already? :sad:

If I had a dollar for every swap meet I have gone to or been in. I would not have to go to swap meets any more. Dude, take a fist full of dollars. Here are some tips to get the best deals.

1) Always be prepared to walk away if you do not get the price you want. You would be surprised how many will at least come half way with your offer when you won’t budge. Some people however I just plain imposable to deal with.
2) Take a Pad and paper to write down names and or parts. Lots of time people have the bigger stuff at home. Or know someone who has the part you are looking.
3) If take say 500 in cash with you. Only put about 75.00 in your wallet. This way you can say Dude Look I only have 75 left. I know you want 100 for that part but I can give you 75. Keep in mind DO NOT SAY I ONLY HAVE 75.00 Say I ONLY HAVE 75 LEFT. This way it lets the seller know you are not a tire kicker and have spent money.
$) Bring a friend to talk you either into things or out of things and be your other source of money. This way you can also use him in negotiations by saying to the seller. I want this part and only have 75.00 left for your 125.00 part. Seller says no way dude, but I will give it to you for 100. If you find the guy won't budge any more. You can pretend to borrow the money off your buddy who is holding onto your other 425.

Player, don't be disappointed if you don't find a lot of Mopar parts. I've been to the last 4 or 5 swap meets at Daytona and even though it is a HUGE swapmeet, you'll be surprised at how few Mopar parts are there. Don't get me wrong, I'm going anyway. Maybe this one will be different. Mike

yeah...he's right..i've been to a few..ford and chevy crap for miles..found one ford 9" that might fit..but that wasn't even mopar..nothin' mopar when i went..mopar is hard to find..that's why we cost more.. :-D

So what you are saying is we Mopar guys are minorities? Hmm I wonder if I can a Government assistance. Have a Mopar History month, Form a Mopar only College, Have MET Mopar Entertainment Television. Maybe I can get preferred jobs if I am female and Mopar.

Thanks for the advise DTK, I'll have the wife with me to talk me out of suff..I know probably not a good idea to bring her with (better to ask forgivness than permission)

but after all it IS OUR car hahahaha so she says.

Used to live in lake worth, my uncle races an old kaw 2stroke drag bike at moroso..

also you only get preffered jobs if you are a female mopar with a handicap...
