some of you my have heard of this.......

On Beating Dead Horses
Dakota tribal wisdom says that when youdiscover you are riding a dead horse, the best strategy is to dismount. However, in organizations like large companies, government, hospitals, school districts, etc., we frequently try other strategies. These can include the following:
#1 Buying a stronger whip.
#2 Changing riders.
#3 Declaring, "this is the way we've always ridden this horse."
#4 Appointing a committee to study the horse. Arranging to visit other sites to see how they ride dead horses.
#5 Increasing the standards to ride dead horses. Creating a training session to increase riding ability.
#6 Appointing a 'tiger team' to revive the dead horse.
#7 Passing a senior management resolution that the horse is not dead.
#8 Blaming the horse's parents and/or environmental conditions when it was a colt.
#9 Harnessing several dead horses together for increased speed.
#10 Declaring that, "no horse is too dead to beat."
#11 Providing additional funding to improve the horse's performance.
#12 Doing a study to see if outside contractors can ride it cheaper.
#14 Declaring that the horse is "better, faster, and cheaper" dead.
#15 Forming a quality circle to find uses for dead horses.
#16 Revisiting the performance requirements for horses.
#17 Saying this horse was procured with cost as an independent variable.
#18 Promoting the horse to a supervisory position.

So, So true in a lot of our GREAT organizations. I'll copy this and circulate accordingly. Good job, but this aint no joke. It's a real fact.
