decode a833 trans numbers

I have a a body 4spd in a 71 scamp and it doesn't have the id pad on the pass side. It just has number c95639u, and the tailshaft number c97477-1, and on the side cover the number of c95664z. Trans is installed in car but i think it has small 23 spline input shaft. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Trans is whinning in all gears but 4th on acelleration and coast. Any sugestions. Thanks
 
On the right side of the tranny is a stamping pad 3/4x3 inches with info on it,sand it down and post the info,I will tell you what it is,and you have a 23 splinde tranny,mrmopartech

look close and the stamped numbers are visable,
this is the a833 that was mis-stamped as a a230
 
This a older transmission that didn,t have the pad you are talking about. They just had casting numbers on the body case. I was hoping someone could tell me what it was. Thanks rtdodge1
 
trans is still installed but looking through the clutch inspection plate cover , i tried to get a measurement but it isn't exactly correct but appears to be a little over 4 inches. I can't see the stamping numbers. I didn't want to take the trans out at this time but wanted to try to find out what i had in case i need parts. Trans is making a whining noise in all gears but fourth.
