The "lotta work" is next. I really need to pull it apart, get the arm off the base, and for that I'll need a LOT of no6 JIC/ AN plastic? caps and plugs. At least 6 of each

Been busy this morn. (It's 9:30AM) It rained to beat 'ell last night, I expected it to this morning and, "it's supposed to." It's wet and muddy, but I got it off the trailer, spun around 180, (THANKS 2 post hoist!!!) and got the pyramid pier weights off the tractor. This thing had a lot of weight. It used to have brine in both tires, now just one, as one tire failed some time ago, has these piers, and then Farmall put a big heavy cast wheel on the "outboard" side, but I obtained another one and bolted it in, like a weight, on the "close" wheel, then put both weights on the other side, which "factory" has a "heavy" wheel. So this thing will shed some weight
Pier blocks "seem to be" about 50 ea and there are 8, so 400 lbs there
I think the wheel weights are around 125--130 ea
I would guess the "heavy side wheel" is around the same or a bit less
On a side note, you cannot put the heavy wheel on the left side "as a wheel" because THE CENTER HOLE is a tiny bit bigger on the left side!!!
Below, spun it 180 off the trailer with the hoist. "Easy" LOL
Below, the old DIY drawbar was on it when I bought it. Made a tray for the weights
Below the extra "heavy" wheel, bolted to the stamped steel wheel as a weight. This belongs on the other side normally, as the engine is offset to this side here
Below, two weights on the right "outboard" side which also has the (factory) heavy cast wheel.
Below, evidently 400lbs "or so" worth of weight

Broke for lunch. Got the thing backed up to it after jacking it up --cleaned up the PTO splines and slipped the pump on--- AND GOT SOME MOVEMENT outta her as well!! Fiddled with the jack pads, and moved the arm a few inches!!! But..........that big pump, thanks to Farmall's idea of "where to put a PTO shaft" is gonna limit how close I can mount it. I may just re-work the foot enclosure(s) to allow it to come back another 4" or whatever. That kind of weight makes a big difference with the "length"
I may investigate whether jacking it up a few more inches would work---and miss the pump interference. It's at about 12" off the ground, now
And one of the annoying neighborhood wild rabbits. They used to migrate around the 'hood, and weren't too bothersome, until some nitwit woman across the alley started feeding them. So now they congregate more in this area, and are a nuisance, and I think they inter-bread more.

In for a break. Just now modified an import 12" crescent wrench by using a cut-off wheel to cut another adjustment slot for wider opening. I don't have an open end large enough to fit this. Had to rotate the hoses 1/2 turn

I'll be DAMNED!!! On the subject of annoying neighborhood rabbits, I found a dead baby one in front of my driveway the other day, and this weekend I'm watching the neighbors aged sweet little "I guess" she's a pomeranian. Anyhow, walking over to let her out, here's ANOTHER dead baby rabbit and about 10 magpies milling around. AND WHEN I LET HER OUT it appeared to me that the shitheads were harassing her and thinking a bout an attack. So I did a search. Sure as hell.......
Dang Del, you need to trim the jungle back. lol
and the weeds are loving it, they are growing 6" a day when we get sun and a little heat.
Do you have a sickle bar for the tractor? might come in handy.

Well I don't know if I 'needed' it LOL. Spent most the day examining, measuring, figuring, and I've got the subframe pretty well planned out---providing I don't make a big mistake. Plan is to tack it together and TRY it LOL
It's going to have to sit higher than I wanted, which was about a foot. I had to accept raising it to about 18" from the bottom to ground, so the pump will clear the foot rests.
There's a top brace connects through the tower area just under the valve, and connects to the big hinge for the arm. THAT is gonna be trouble, because of the way this tractor is made. There are a couple of big bolt holes into the top of the gearbox casting, I'm thinking "them" for one side, and not quite sure about the other. I think I tend to "over" but at least it's likely not to break anything that way

Well there's no "backhoe buildin' " goin on today LOL, and maybe not tomorrow, either, judging from the wx report
By the way the hydrualics all seem to work fine. I got it jigged up in this position by hooking the pump to the tractor PTO and using the hoe's own hydraulics
