Went to the *** Drive-in Rat Run yesterday Pretty interesting stuff. Thought that 65 Chev PU was cool but it needed a 426 Hemi to be really impressive. Lots of pin-up girls.

Really thought the chain door was cool

Home made out of square tubing. He had barbed wire for ignition wires. He fired it up several times and drove it in the slow drags. Seemed to run pretty good. Like I said that 65 Chev PU was pretty impressive

The most interesting rat I saw (a photo of) was a SB Chivvy on which the guy had reground the camshaft and turned the exhaust into intakes and vice versa. Had eight stacks coming straight up out of the intake, and some sort of side draft (snomobile, bike?) carbs hooked to the exhaust.

In fact, here we are now.....................

This is my idea of a rat rod, someone making their own ride, which is cool but the ones around here are just ppl trying to make them look as junky as possible, which I don't like.

Actually, vaugely remember someone trying that at Indy decades ago, with Small block chevy.Thought is was Smokey Yunick or Bruce Crower.

and the distributor run off of the front end of the crank. This guy is a unique one

Most just take an old vehicle and throw a 350/350 combo in it, lower it, put some wheels and tires on and call it good. I like the uniqe ones that actually took talent

Actually you can/ used to be able to buy those drives. Used a some in altereds/ dragsters back in the day. Common for injector pump drives for Hillborn/ Enderle. But you're right. The thing IS unique.

Is this thing air cooled? Man that is thinking WAY OUT OF THE BOX. I dig it. did you hear it running?

Here's another from the MATS 2012 with a Cummings diesel

No, if you look, you can see the hoses coming down from the water pump mounts on each side of the timing cover. The outlet pipe is barely visible at top rear

That reverse-flow is cool, that took alot of thinking.
Also love the parking brake set-up he had.

Where's the pics of the pin-up girls?
My thoughts exactly...

I saw a motor just like this in the last issue of HOTROD magazine I got, I believe it was also an SBC. Pretty damn cool in my opinion.
