If you are only looking for an original look while getting rid of the column shifter, you don't need to change the whole column, only the upper shell. I removed the column shifter parts from my '73 D100 and replaced the shell with one from a console shifted '70Duster.
FWIW, I also got rid of the troublesome '73 ignition switch at the same time and installed one from a '79 Aspen, which mounts atop the column behind the dash instead of inside the column. A steering wheel from a Cordoba also replaced the oversized truck version.
The great thing about old Mopars is the commonality of parts that allows a lot of mix and match between models.
