dip stick

what dip stick is everyone using. i got one for the 99 dodge ram. its what we got our magnum out of but the dip stick seams really long.. we are using the magnum belt system

DON'T use that dipstick. I made that mistake myself and it broke off in the engine. I haven't found one yet myself but am looking as well.

how did you brake it off? did you force it in cause i was thinking of shortening it to what is needed

We kinda forced forced it and it must have kinked weird. Then when I pulled it out it had a kink in it and I kept pulling trying to get it out and it broke.

yea shouldnt of forced it.. if i cant find a one to use i will just cut the one i got down

I had a whole different idea of what this thread was about before I opened it.......

I just bought a chrome Mopar Performance dipstick and tube for the LA motors with passenger car oil pan. Once I installed the tube, I used a little map gas torch to heat the tube and bend until it cleared the Alt/AC bracket that is used on the serpentine belt setup.

i ended up cutting it and remarking it.. worked really well

i got a chrome one to but didnt work.. with vbelt it will work but not with the serpentine belt.. it needs to have a bend for mine cause the alt is in the way.
