Just curious. Anyone know if the front disk set up from a 1977 volare (spindle's caliper's and caliper brackets) will fit into a 1968 barracuda.

The volare the s an original slant 6. Not sure if they had smaller brakes with them

yes.

The spindles are 3/8" taller and there is some debate on if that helps or hurts the geometry.

...and you should be able to keep 14" wheels.

One more question. Will the bolt pattern change. I've got 14 inch small volt pattern. (14 x 4)?
4.5 is the big bolt pattern? Correct.
I do know mine are the smaller size regardless

Yes, it will change- the Volare discs have a 4.5" bolt circle.
I thought so. I will try and find a small bolt rotor that will work on that spindle. Mancini Racing has a small bolt pattern rotor. Not sure if it would work with the volare front spindles.
Trying to avoid some expenses.
If I need to get a different bolt
pattern, then I'd get a 15 inch wheel, so naturally I'd need to get 15 and big bolt pattern for the rear. Then I'd need to change rear axle hubs...

That Mancini rotor says 62--72 A body in the description. Also says NOT a replacement for the factory KH rotor. So it bolts to factory disc spindles up to 72 and uses a later caliper. Kind of an orphan, it will not work with the later spindles. IIRC, the bearings for the 73 and up spindles are all the same.

It will not work for what you're doing. If you want discs and keep the small 4" pattern, finding a factory KH setup would be best.

Might be in your best interest to switch to 5 on 4.5.

Relatively easy to find a 66/67 B body 8 3/4 or F/M body 8 1/4 that is a virtual drop in.

I just looked into that option. Brake pad replacement options are very limited, and replacement calipers are $150 @ rockauto.
Thinking thinking...

I already have a 8 3/4 axle for an a body, so I guess I'd need to find some axle shafts that would fit in?

After a little more research, I found that volare calipers (upto 1980) are mounted on the front edge of the rotors. Is it possible to still put on a sway bar? If so would it be the regular early a body sway bar or an f body sway bar?

Swap the spindles and calipers side-to-side so the calipers mount to the rear- perfectly acceptable. Then there's no clearance issue with a (anti)sway bar. Use the A body bar. You''ll need a longer brake hose when you mount them to the rear- use '69 Camaro (I've heard F body Mopar works too) hoses.
