I have a new engine I have dropped into my 66 Dart. It's a 408. The distributor is a new never used procomp. What are the things that tell me if I need to change the curve or is it something that I need to start engine and do some tuning first. Also I would like to start the engine before my dash and wiring is back in so what temporary wiring would I need to make for this to happen? If additional info is needed let me know. Right now the there is no wiring in engine compartment. I am hoping I can do this without alt on as well. Cam is a roller so long breakin run time isn't needed. My reason is to check because engine builder is retiring and I want to make sure there are no obvious issues with this build.
Thanks , Rod

Yes you can start it with what ever curve the dist. has from factory. The curve is like carb jetting. Its an event that takes place after you have everything settled in. Myself I run ONE very light spring so the timing pulls back at cranking speed for easier start up but is all in at idle speed.
