Do you all ever get ideas that won't go away?

I have an overwhelming urge to build a Cummins 5.9 powered A body for drag racing. I've already got the Scamp going on and I don't need another project but dammit this idea just won't leave me alone.

I think you better beef up that front suspension just a little.....I am a huge fan of the Cummins and the A-body so it would be cool .... Maybe the little 4 cyl Cummins might work a litttle better..

Personally I say go for it but your going to have to beef up the chassis alot otherwise you'll twist the car around you. If you think about it your going from a frame almost 12" tall 1/4" thick by 2 or 3 inches wide and usually boxed to a frame that is maybe 1/8" and open on top. You will have alot of changes to do and the sheer size of the cummins and it's trans will be a killer to. Personally it'll be cool as heck and I say if you can swing it git'r done.

lol I have those ideas to. I want to build a roadster out of a reg. cab. shortbox dodge pickup. remove the roof except for the windshield connect the cab and bed together and make that whole space into kind of a party area with the tailgate welded smooth. and then theres the same idea with instead an old Cadillac hearse the ones with the kind diamond shaped taillights but with that diamond top shape carried from the windshield to the taillight. Or my late 30's plymouth with a custom grilled made out of two 57 chevy truck grilles welded together bottom to bottom on it's side but the width made shorter to match the height of the grille. lol lots of ideas to little money

Turbocharging my cuda is always there, limiting factor is i cant weld lol. so once i learn that, i'm in trouble:D

me to im a diesel fan in the worst way i think all the time if i could get my hands on an C/T i would replace my slant 6 with one.

A diesel would be a neat driver but the a body would need too much work unless you plan on building a complete frame for the car.

A Dana 60 would be a must and the tunnel would have to be HUGE if you used the auto

What I have been thinking is how an SRT4 engine would work in a light car other than a neon. Now a A body with a turbo 4 with a stage 3 kit...........hhhuuuuummmmmmmm Gas mileage, should be fast and handle well

two problems with that, they sound like weed eaters, they are 4 pistons too short. but that would be nice to get the gas milage ofa neon in an old muscle car, im not crossing my fingers. A cummins Turbo deisel in an abody has been done before. A guy put a 5.9 in a 72 dodge dart swinger. Cant remember if i seen it in hot rod or car craft, it was a while ago. It ran FAST and smoked like a big rig

Man did you notice how soon off idle that monte carlo started smoking the tires.... That shows the torque of those engines.... and that rat rod is the 3.9 that I think would be alot easier.... Not sure how much power you could get out of it but I bet it would pass many a gas stations....

I've got one of those idea's to Guitar. Mine is to build an engine that will run on 180 proof alky and build my own still to make the fuel. The cops don't like the idea very much though. One of the R.C.M.P. in the building I work in told me if I build the still and only use it for fuel that they probably wouldn't bother me though. Yea right! LOL
