can the springs, axles, cab and rearends from a 87 3/4 ton be put on a 79 1/2 ton.

reason is because 79 has a shotbed bad body. 87 good cab but long bed. basically making a 3/4 ton 87 short bed

I know for sure the cab will fit, I put a 72 cab on an 86 frame, all the body mounts are in the same place. I'm going to guess that the spring perch positions didn't change from 72-93 either. The fenders and doors changed in '81, they will bolt on to a 72-80 cab but the 81-93 stuff has an upper body that isn't there on 72-80 models so they wont look right on the earlier cab.
