Back in 2004 I need a 727 rebuilt....and after getting all those crazy prices I decided it was time to do it my self....I bought this video on VHS ....eventually converted it to digital ....With the video playing on my laptop I rebuild the 727 in my 73 340 Duster...I bought some snap ring pliers...found a great deal on the bushing drivers.....Since then I have done a few trans 904..727,,,42Rh...46Rh..46RE.....and have helped several friend do theirs...Watch the video...it is not rocket science...and that 727 is still working great in the Duster...

We had a local guy known as 9inch Harry. (His last name was not Reems)
A retired engineer who rebuilt 9" carriers. My buddy had his done there. Harry kept a log book of every one he did and it was over a thousand. Unfortunately, he died a couple years ago and his inventory was sold to another driveline specialist nearby.

I'm sure all the women in the area were disappointed to hear about 9inch Larry's death!!!:rofl::rofl::thumbsup:

Thanks for all your help. I sent it out
I paid $120 for my rebuild kit and $69 for a shift kit...
How much is shipping back and forth?...
Anything goes wrong with it then what? Take it back out and ship it back to him?... Who pays for that?..

Just a little 2 ft by 4 ft piece of plywood sitting on the back of a couple chairs..
Woulda coulda shoulda..

I have bought two 904s from keith. Never any problems. I Took two cores down to his shop, and got two really nice 904s. I wouldn't be scared of his traany work.
All he does is Mopar Trannys.
If I remember right he has different levels of rebuilds Stock, mild, Or race, or something like that.
He was working at a Mopar Dealership in Indiana. He is just east the Illinois/Indiana, out side of Chcago.

That’s what he said. Thanks I appreciate you letting me know.

I may be wrong but I believe 727 specialist is the guy who took over Steve Griners business after Steves passing. He was schooled by Griner. He sells Griners brakes. But I may be mistaken.
But I agree you can do it yourself. I have done many successfully
after trying it for the first time.

I got my transmission back for him. He knows 727 . It shifts perfectly. I would recommend him.
