Does it matter what year transmission you have?

Is 904 tranny, just a 904 tranny no matter what year it is? Are some years better then others? Mine happens to be from a 72 Satellite.

Input spline changed in 68 IIRC.

Early splines are different than late.

There are some subtle differences from 68-7oish and the later 71+ transmissions. pump bushings width and other stuff. Just know what you have and if you need something, order based on that.
