Working on my 66 Dart 2 dr hardtop. I have the doors adjusted and the drivers side is completed and all good. Went to the passenger side and install the rubber seal that goes around the complete door jamb as you can see in the pic below.

Now the door wont close and latch. I removed the trim and with a wooden block and hammer I moved the lip that the seal goes onto back some and still wont close. I tried to readjust the door latch and things got worse. So Im hoping theres a method to align the latch assembly so my door closes and latches! lol
The body lines were perfect so I dont want to have to re adjust the door.
What are my options?
Thanks Rod

I ran across the same problem a couple years ago on a 73 cuda. The new seal was too tight in the hinge area. Ended up having to move the door out on the hinges some and readjusting the front fender to match. I sure hope you don't have to do that as you said your body lines are already good, but sometimes you have no other choice. Good luck hope it works out better for you!

It can take some time for the weather strips to break in though you do not have a problem with the drivers side.
Like Mopar-Mitch said they can really bind on the hinge area. Some times moving the door straight back can alleviate this situation. If you do move the door rearward, know that the striker can begin to interfere with the latch. Good luck and may patience be on your side.

Common problem. Doors were reset during bodywork so now the body is in perfect alignment and looks great. No Mopar ever looked that good from the factory, congratulations! Do you see where this is going? Other than re-adjusting the door itself, you can consider trimming the weatherstripping so it compresses more.

Body person, I did have to move the lip inward on the drivers door some the get it to close completely. I'll work with the latch on the passenger side and see if I can get it to at least latch so it can compress the seal and sneak up on it. My real concern is that the door will latch and I wont be able to open the door again. Then I'll be pissed off. Lol
