So the other day when I got my new Duster home I decided to see if the door would lock, it doesnt....
The key goes all the way into the lock but doesnt turn. This means its frozen right? And if so how do I get the locking mechanism out of the door to clean it?

First open the door and use a 3/8 extension or the like to substatute the post and operate the latch and try the lock. If it works you'll know the door isn't closing properly. If that latch doesn't go all the way to it positions the lock mechanism wont work.

Not the right key, somebody changed the lock or the lock is frozen up.
To get to the lock cylinder...open the door, roll window up, take window crank off, take inner door handle off, carefully take door panel off.
Remove clip that holds rod to clyinder.
Lock cylinder is held in by a metal clip. Just pull it off.
