Door problems

The driver door in my Demon has gone spastic on me. First off, I tried to exit my car and the interior door handle wouldn't open the door. I rolled the window down and opened it from the outside to get out. Later, I popped the panel off and the interior handle isn't pulling the rod that actuates the lock mechanism far enough to open the door.

Any ideas on how to adjust this???


A few days later my window stopped rolling down. It binds up completely about 1/4 of the way down. I am looking for a driver side regulator that will fit a '71 Demon if you have one laying around!!

can be bent a bit to get it "shorter" so that it will pull the latch open.

The regulator may just need some white lithium grease sprayed on the moving parts in the tracks where the rollers(you might have a broken one) are and on the gear mechanism also( anything to lube it will work). If there are teeth missing on the gear mechanism, you'll need a replacement.

The regulator got bound up on the large rivet that holds the thing together in the middle and bent the whole deal up good.

man the SAME exact thing just happened to my demon like 3 weeks ago ...the whole regulator asembly went tits up ....gotta tell you ..not something ill want to be replacing again anytime soon. good luck!
