Well, it was hotter than you know what this weekend at Tulsa Raceway Park!
Heat index in the 105-108 range.

My Son won No-Box on Saturday & Sunday!

Ran the Saturday final at 3:30AM Sunday morning!
Had to be back at the track @ 9:30AM to race.
I don't think the car ever cooled off, LOL.

The car & driver was deadly both days.
Car ran a best of 6.40 @ 106.5 MPH, with a best 60FT. @ 1.37.
Can't wait to see what this thing will do in good air.

Show off!!! two times in a row to boot! :) So how many rounds consecutive so far?

Damn!! 17 straight..... when do you expect to get back out and add on to that figure? For some reason I'm betting your opponents are going to be pushing the tree pretty hard :)

In two weeks, we have three 2-day points races in a row.
Hoping to put the Championship away in those races.

With the two wins last weekend, he is up 7.5 rounds of racing on 2nd place.

I do remind him that he has a target on him, He has won 4 previous Championships & tied for two more at our track.
Also with the 10 grand win at the Southern Footbrake Challenge, that target has gotten bigger.

He can have one of the worst drivers there, & this guy will go 00 on the tree & be dead on against him. The next round, same guy will be 100 on the tree & break out. LOL

There's always the racers that resent someone winning also.
My boy is one of the most laid back, ez going, freindlyest guys there is. Always to give advice when asked or help a fellow racer in need. Never brags.

One thing he is, very competitive. Hates to runner up, he views it as a failure.

Bad dude, interested in your hood, is that a AAR fiberglass hood on hinges? Where did you order it from? THANKS

Yeah ones you make a name for your self, you will get them "pull a rabbit out of a hat" guys that make your day short.
But you find a lot of racers that know your good, and make mistakes, that give you easy rounds.

The two years that i took the points racing serious (2nt year took 4th place over all) i got more red light wins then the previous 10 year together.

Were i race it was 4 rounds sometime 5 to win. 17 round to be just that much better then the other guy each round. WOW that's real tough to do! Congrads to you, your dad, and your car.

It's a liftoff hood.
It uses dzus fasteners.

I wish it was an AAR hinge type, that is what I have on the Demon.
Love it.

Well, it seems our track owner has decided to change the playing field.
We had one race cancelled & our last two races are scheduled for November!

We were unable to attend the last two-day race, due to my Son getting ill.
Doctor ordered him not to race due to the heat & medication that he was on.
So he has dropped to 3rd in points, not bad when you think about it, he has missed 4 races out of 10.
Now his attitude is that he will just win the last two races. LOL
He is 2.5 rounds out of 2nd & 4.5 rounds out of 3rd.

We will be back to racing in Nobel, OK. this weekend & have a big Labor Day weekend planned as well at the same track.

Then to Dallas for the Div IV team finals with both cars.

Good luck in Nobel! Where do you guys go for regionals after the end of the season, Ennis, or the one on IH-30?

Thanks for the reply Mike, good luck in Div 4, i race at NO PROBLEM RACEWAY, Jimmy HIdalgo Jr. is on a roll, very good at what he does!:glasses7:

We came down to No Problem in Febuary.
Was looking forward to running in that good air.

However, broke a spring perch mounting on the Demon & it was a handful to drive.
It did run a 7.02 on the brakes.

My boy made 1 time run & got out of it, Then dialed it 7.00 for the first round & went 7.02 on the brakes.

Next round, almost took out the tree.

I think it would have went 6.95 in that air.
Not too bad for a .060 over stock short block 340 & small flat tappet cam.
