I have Edelbrock heads port matched to Felpro 1413 gaskets. The new TTI headers that I have do not line up with the gasket matched ports. Below is a picture of the FelPro 1413 gaskets (top) and the gaskets supplied by TTI (bottom). The flange on the TTI header, which has a raised 1/8" thick bead around it, matches the gaskets supplied by TTI. The headers will not seal to my heads and the outside ports are restricting exhaust flow:

So does anyone know if the Dougs header flange matches up to FelPro 1413 gaskets. My TTI headers fit very well and line right up with the TTI 2 1/2" exhaust. Do the Dougs come down under the car in the same place as the TTIs or would I have to modify my exhaust?

Try the Remflex gaskets. They are nice and I have used them on mopars a few times.

Hmm. On the outside port, it looks like the opening on the TTIs is significantly smaller than the opening in the gasket. That's incredibly lame.

Both headers dump in the same basic location.

Try calling Brian at IMM. I believe one of his customers, Sloan, may have had a similar situation with ported ede's and tti headers.

Sounds like an adapter plate may be in the works.

Not sure why tti makes the flange that way.

My Edelbrocks are ported and i'm using the same fel-pro gasket in your picture, with tti's..no leaks what so ever...

It looks like the Dougs flange would better match the ports then the TTIs. If that is the case then that is a serious advantage the Dougs have; better flow and better sealing.

I called TTI and they said the header has to come off and the header flange bead needs to be widened so that it will contact the outside of the heads exhaust port. I have a guy locally that specializes in custom headers who will be doing the work.

I think I just got unlucky and got headers with thin flange beads. Are your header openings smaller on the end tubes then the head's ports? They probably are but there is enough of a flange to seal up in your case.

Ya' know i've never noticed, next time i have them off i'll have to check that out,i do know i've never had any problems sealing them and they've been on and off 4 times in the in the past year fixing engine issues...

As good as your car runs it certainly is not slowing you down.

Only thing slowing my car down is the fat guy behind the wheel,if i drop a few pounds over the winter(ya' right)..maybe it'll go faster..lol...
