where are the pit cocks on a 331 1957 hemi so i can drain the block ? or is there any other way? need to het ready for winter thanks

There should be two threaded plugs, one on either side of the block. Takes a 9/16 socket if memory serves......

No petcocks unless someone previously installed them; just drain plugs.
Pretty much like a small block.
Just my 2 cents...
I would be sure the engine (im assuming its a running engine) is currently filled with a proper antifreeze water mix for your expected freeze temperatures.
then get the drain holes as low compared to the rest of the engine, lift the rear of the car for example, then start the draining.
You are never going to get all the water out of the block, hence the antifreeze so the remaining water will not freeze.

got the pit cocks both lose, open , the drivers side drained for quite a while till water stop, the pass side nothing ? stuck a small screw driver up in ,but didnt help, do you have to drain both sides, or will one side drain the both sides of the motor?

Installed them on my 440. Had a tough time getting the old plugs out.
You may have to use a small punch and hammer to get through the gunk. Sometimes the build up gets hard like cement.
just be careful you don't go through the other side of the water jacket or the petcock itself.
One of the design flaws of using Petcocks is they have an inner part (red arrow) that is the stop. When open it is in there still and if clogged cant be cleaned by poking or drilling

maybe try and take it out, and put pipe plug in, maybe 5/16 or 3/8 ? thanks for your help
Man that crank has some really big mains. I bet it'd never break.
It also has 4" pistons on the left bank and 3 " on the right!
