Ok so i was trying to install my driveshaft today in my Duster and it seems to long. It has a 904 tranny and a 8 3/4 rear its about maybe 3/4 of and inch to long. The shaft is a 52" will i need to have it shortened if so to what length?

You need to measure it. Slide the spline yoke in and bottom it out pull it back about an inch to an inch and a half and measure from the center of the front cap to the face of the rear yoke where the cap strap bolts on, that will be the center of the rear cap. Make sure you have stands under the rearend, you want full weight of the car on it when you measure. It should be somewhere around 48" or a little more. You will need to call your local driveline shop and have them shorten and balance it.

alright ill probly just get it ready to be driven and just haul it to a shop and let the guy i know do it he does it for drag cars all the time. i was hopin to go cruisein this month in it but oh well.
