driveshaft length...?

Is the driveshaft length different whether you use a 904 or 727 transmission? I have a 71 duster that I am putting a 318 in with a 727 transmission. I have a guy that has a driveshaft but it came out of a 904 car.

727 Transmission is longer so the driveshaft is shorter, plus the 727 slip yoke has more splines and is larger. U joint can be large or small. What rear end is in your Duster?

I just figured it out. I ended up buying 1 at a swap meet. The rearend is a 7 1/4.

Same question about leanths diffrent situation, I will be swaping a 904 with a 727 and installing an 8 3/4... How much should i shortened or how long should my drive shaft be....

Measure it after you get it all together and see you local driveshaft shop....
