drum to disc

i have a 72 scamp and i want to go from drums in the front to disc. i have a kelsey hayes set up that is on a knuckle. have everything from knuckle to suspension. i am missing an upper control arm, do i need it? also do i need a master cylinder or a porportioning valve? thanks

You don't need the upper control arm, but you need a dual master cylinder made for disc brakes and proportioning valve that is plumbed into the rear brake line.

The upper control arms are the same. The lower ball joints are different, though. The bolts that connect the spindle to the ball joint are larger diameter for the Kelsey-Hayes. You will either have to get the larger ball joints, or drill out your existing ball joint holes. We drilled out the holes on my ball joints just to get the job completed. But, we also ordered new ball joints.
