I know this is supposed to be non technical, but I need help. One of my friends has an 03 Dodge Durango with the 4.7 "semi hemi". Apparently it's an LA block with Hemi parts on it? Anyway, they replaced the O2 sensors on it twice, and still came up with the Rear right bank O2 sensor out. They replaced it twice and even switched it out with some that they absolutely knew were working. However it is still doing this. Could someone help with this?

Ok the 4.7 is not anything like the la motors whatsoever. Totally different. Next what code is coming up exactly? If they have swapped sensors and are still getting the same code I would start chasing wires, obviously it is not the sensor. Good luck!

I had the code on our Intrepid that kept coming on. The Chrysler dealer found a bad wire or connection and fixed that and problem went away. Check all wiring to sensor, maybe clean connections.

Just because it says an O2 sensor means nothing. You have to "graph" how it's monitoring. If it's slow responding- it's likely shot. I have a mini van that showed both heated O2 sensors bad- at $86 each I was going through the steps to figure it out.
Turned out to be a short in the Air fuel meter. A "fuzzy"- ya know a dandelion puff ball somehow got past my airfilter and stuck to the sensor wire. I blew it out with carb spray and compressed air....end of story. Runs like a top.
Need to have something other than a code reader, you need a actual scanner that can "see" what the sensors are doing. Then back up from there. Good luck!
