Since it is nearly impossible to find replacement bumpers for a 1974 Duster I was wondering if anyone has had their bumbers wrapped with "Chrome" wrap? I'm wondering if it looks good? Is it durable? Is it expensive? (How much?) Thanks for any info you can provide.

Rear bumper from AMD on Summit. Maybe the earlier 72 bolt pattern(?) You'd have to find some 72 brackets.

Yeah that's not a '74 bumper and is nothing like an original '74 bumper. It's harder than just finding '70-73 brackets, because the shock mounted '74 brackets mount totally different and the tail panel was changed to make room for the shock mounts. You can convert a '74 to use the earlier bumper, but it's more involved than just buying early brackets and bolting it on.

Chrome vinyl wrap isn't the easiest thing to work with and make it look good (debated the same for a glass one so asked a buddy that is a professional). I'd probably spend the money and have Tri-city replate them.

Thinking about doing the same thing to glass bumpers, having them chrome wrapped.
If it does not work, then the glass bumpers will get painted silver.

For the steel bumpers another option might be powder coating, there are some chrome look powder coats out there now that look pretty decent.
