Duster reverse dash light wire routing.

In 1971, it's the Z terminal (black wire) on the bulkhead connector. '73 is probably the same.

Any suggestions on how to verify this?
I've been doing research and finding different avenues. Some post mentioned coming through the bulkhead. As stated above another suggest the one wire has a grommet that goes through the firewall..

Engine side : the black wire comes from the transmission switch to the "Z" terminal of the bulkhead connector
Inside : the wire is white from the bulkhead to the body wiring connector, then violet to the reverse lights.

I installed a reverse warning light into my Demon and I connected it in parallel onto the white wire of the back-up lights.
It's why I know which wire it is :)
Automatic transmission and manual transmission wirings are similar...

Unfortunately, I don't understand what these pictures represent.
Yes, with the manual transmission, there a wire from the clutch pedal to the starter relay. But it's distinct from the transmission reverse light switch and has no connection with it.

The reverse lights wiring is simple.
Do you have a black wire entering into the "Z" terminal of your bulkhead connector engine side?
If yes, this positive wire comes from the transmission switch and goes to the reverse lights thru the bulkhead conn.
Inside, if you have a 4-speed transmission, the white wire is divided in two : one wire goes to the rear of the car, and the other goes to the dashboard reverse light. With the 3-speed trans, there is only one white wire (no dash light)

This particular person was showing that the single wire from the indicator light went through the firewall on the 73 duster. And connected into that connector.

IMO it's not original.
As told above, the reverse lights (and the dashboard indicator light) wiring goes thru the bulkhead connector.

But, what's your problem? The reverse lights don't work?

In my case, I had a 3-speed trans and I replaced it with a 4-speed. So, I wanted to install the reverse indicator light under the dashboard.
I connected a wire onto the Z terminal on the inner side of the bulkhead connector and it works.
