I have a 1970 duster that i am building as a street and strip car.The engine is a 360 magnum 390 horse crate engine with 1.7 roller rockers and a 750 holley double pumper carb 727 trans with 3000ish converter and a 8.75 rearend with 4:10 gears and the car has super stock springs and drag shocks and a pinion snubber.I am hoping the car will run close to a 12flat.I was wondering if anyone has a similiar combination to mine and what kind of times there getting with them.thanks

This has been done alot here in the past. Car weight and traction dependent, you'll get what your looking for. Times recorded here float between 12.5 and 12.0's with some members in the past dipping into the 11's when lightened and/or more agressive strip set ups that would not really be seen in the streets.

My car is similar to the proposed build, but has a couple of advantages.

I don't know what the spec is on the 390 crate cam, but I'm pretty sure mine is mo' better. I've also got the Iron Ram heads, and a 904 instead of 727. On the other hand, i've got a 670 street avenger carb, and my shortblock came from the junkers.

I'm guessing the heads make a big difference for me over the stock Magnum castings.

My best time is in my sig. Car weighs 3270 with me.

It'll be interesting to see how it runs when you get it together.

Steve
